Artists of all ages and skill levels are being invited to take part in a new community exhibition celebrating local waterways and shared experiences.
Organizers say there is one week remaining to register submissions for the first “My Story” community exhibition, which centres on rivers and waterways throughout the region. The project is being created as a shared community storybook, highlighting personal observations and perspectives connected to the natural environment.
The exhibition is open to residents from Dresden to Sombra, including Mitchell’s Bay and Walpole Island. Individual and group works are welcome, and organizers say all creative mediums will be considered, provided submissions follow watershed guidelines.
Accepted forms of expression include photography, painting, jewellery, handmade fish flies, dance and written word, among others. The exhibition aims to recognize that “we are all citizen scientists through observation, noticing and recording the world around us,” and to celebrate creativity inspired by the natural world.
The submission deadline is Feb. 13, 2026. Additional information is available at citizenscience.ca/events-2/.
Organizers say the exhibition is intended to be the first of what they hope will become an annual event celebrating the community and its connection to local waterways.
