Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 33-year-old Chatham-Kent woman has been arrested on a committal warrant in connection with a stolen phone investigation.
Police say that on Nov. 30, 2025, at approximately 2:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen phone from a restaurant on Park Avenue East in Chatham.
A 26-year-old Chatham man told police he had accidentally left his phone behind at the restaurant. When he returned moments later, he observed several individuals leaving the area and was unable to locate the device.
Through surveillance footage, a suspect was identified. The woman was located and arrested on Park Avenue East and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of Dec. 19, 2026. Police say the accused failed to attend court on several occasions and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Feb. 12, 2026, at approximately 10:12 a.m., the accused was located on Wellington Street West in Chatham and arrested on a committal warrant for surety relief. She was transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date.
