Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame announces 2025-2026 award winners and inductees

The Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame is congratulating its 2025 and 2026 award recipients ahead of the annual banquet on April 11.

Lucas Laprise has been named the 2025 Ray Aarssen/WSHOF scholarship recipient. Legacie Blackbird and Tori Horrobin were recognized as 2025 Outstanding Achievement award winners. The Play 4 Brae committee received the 2025 Builder of the Year award, while Chris Bonneau earned 2025 Coach of the Year and Samantha St. Croix was named 2025 Athlete of the Year.

The 2026 inductees include Patti Blondia, recognized as Female Athlete Inductee; Brian Glover, Male Athlete Inductee; Ed Freeburn, Coach/Official Inductee; and Grace Harvey, Builder Inductee. Team honors went to the 1978 Wallaceburg Satan Juvenile Lacrosse Team, named Master Classic Inductee, and the 1990 Wallaceburg Sting Men’s Soccer Team, named Team Inductee.

Organizers also announced that Dresden native and NHL defenceman T. J. Brodie will serve as the head speaker for the 2026 awards banquet.
