Driver charged with impaired driving after traffic stop in St. Clair Township

OPP officials allege: An individual is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop in St. Clair Township.

On Feb. 20, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., an officer with the Lambton County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police was conducting general patrol when a vehicle was stopped on Kimball Road, north of Tulloch Line.

Police say that as a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old from Mitchells Bay was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with operation while impaired — alcohol and drugs, and failure or refusal to comply with a demand.

A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were issued.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on April 2, 2026.

The Lambton County OPP says it remains committed to removing impaired drivers from roadways through enforcement and public education, reminding motorists that no amount of alcohol or drugs in a driver’s system is safe. Anyone who suspects impaired driving is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
