Warrant arrest made after missed court appearance in Wallaceburg case

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A warrant arrest has been made in connection with a previous assault investigation in Wallaceburg.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service says the original incident occurred on Oct. 4, 2025, when officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg.

Police say a physical altercation took place between a 23-year-old woman from Wallaceburg and a 28-year-old man from Dresden. Both individuals sustained minor injuries and did not require additional medical attention.

The woman was charged with assault and later released with conditions and a scheduled court date of Oct. 28, 2025. Police say she failed to attend court, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On Feb. 25, 2026, at approximately 10:08 a.m., the accused turned herself in at police headquarters in Chatham, where she was arrested on the outstanding warrant.

She was released with a future court date of March 24, 2026.
