Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 47-year-old Chatham man is facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle complaint involving dangerous driving behaviour.
Police say officers responded the evening of Feb. 27 to reports of a vehicle unable to maintain speed, swerving across lanes and nearly causing multiple collisions.
The vehicle was located a short time later on Hedge Maple Path. Following an investigation, officers determined the driver was impaired by alcohol. Breath tests later registered above the legal limit.
The man was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. He was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court April 27, 2026.
