Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 30-year-old Tilbury man is facing charges after an incident at a Chatham hospital early Tuesday morning.
Police say officers responded to a disturbance on Grand Avenue on March 3, 2026, at approximately 3:23 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found a man lying on the floor who was refusing to leave the property. When police attempted to take him into custody, he allegedly resisted and struck an officer in the face.
Police say the officer was not injured.
The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He has been charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
