Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham man is in custody following his arrest on a warrant related to a previous weapons investigation.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service says the investigation began May 15, 2025, when officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Taylor Avenue.
Police say the search resulted in the seizure of multiple weapons, ammunition and a controlled substance. Charges included unauthorized possession of prohibited weapons, possession contrary to an order, unauthorized firearm possession and possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule 1 substance.
The accused was initially arrested and later released by the court with surety.
On March 3, 2026, the 36-year-old was arrested by court staff at the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in connection with a surety revocation warrant. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
