Police officer connects with youth during March Break library visit in Wallaceburg

A Chatham-Kent police officer spent part of March Break engaging with local youth at the Wallaceburg library through reading and creative activities.

Const. Kristen Charron visited the library where she read with children, helped with crafts and spoke about policing, the Chatham-Kent Police Service said in a social media post.

“Bet you didn’t know CKPS officers could use glue sticks and scissors!” the post read.

Police said the visit aimed to build connections with young people while promoting community safety and positive interactions with officers.

The event also included children making police-themed crafts, such as hats and badges, as part of the activities.

“Constable Kristen Charron had a blast reading, signing and getting creative with the kids at the Wallaceburg Library,” the post said.

Police added the visit helped turn an ordinary day into a meaningful experience by “building connections, sharing smiles and inspiring future officers along the way.”
