OPP officials allege: A driver is facing multiple charges, including impaired driving and drug trafficking offences, following a traffic stop in Lakeshore.
Essex County Ontario Provincial Police conducted a traffic stop on Manning Road near North Talbot Road at approximately 12:15 a.m. on March 21, 2026.
Police said a 52-year-old Chatham resident was arrested and charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams, dangerous operation, and several drug trafficking-related offences involving opioids and cocaine.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on April 30, 2026, to answer to the charges.
A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated as per statute.
