Robert ‘Bob’ Lyttle

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert John Lyttle, who passed peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Beloved husband to Jean and the late Louise (1999). Dear father to Michelle (Kevin), Barb (Steve), and Heather (Dave). Predeceased by his daughter Joanne and son Brice. Loving Papa to Emily, Katie, Lochlan, Zachary, Hailey, Jacinda, Damon, Kiera, Darryn, Corey, Ashley, Michaela, Payton, Kendra, and Makenna. Caring brother to Margaret, Ethel, Francis, and Maureen. Predeceased by his brothers Michael and Thomas. Robert will also be remembered by extended family and friends. Robert came to Canada from Ireland at the age of 21 in 1967. Robert worked at Imperial Oil in Sarnia, then moved to Ontario Hydro, where he dedicated over 30 years of his life, retiring at the age of 52. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet pride in providing for his family. Outside of work, he truly lived for the game of golf. Whether he was out on the course perfecting his swing or sharing laughs with friends, golf was more than a pastime—it was one of his greatest joys. He also loved being out on the water as a passionate boater, where he found peace and contentment. You could often find him in the garage, working away on a project, happiest when he had something to build or fix. At home, his loyal dog, Julio, was his constant companion and best buddy, rarely far from his side and always a source of comfort and happiness. He was a man who would help anyone without hesitation. Whether it was a neighbor, a friend, or a stranger, Bob was always there with a willing hand and a kind heart. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud Papa. His family was the center of his world, and he showed his love through his actions every day—through support, laughter, and unwavering presence. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife and family. Those who knew him will always remember his unique way of describing things as “marvellous.” And now, we take comfort in believing that he is truly marvellous once again. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Denning’s of Strathroy. In memory of Bob, donations made out to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
