Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 49-year-old Chatham woman is facing multiple charges following a shoplifting incident at a Queen Street retail store.
Chatham-Kent police say officers responded around 11:54 p.m. on April 16 to a report of a trespassed individual stealing merchandise.
Police located and identified the suspect at the scene.
The woman was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Further investigation revealed she was also wanted on a warrant related to previous theft offences. She was additionally charged with mischief under $5,000, assault with a weapon, theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
Police say she was transported to headquarters and later released with a scheduled court date of June 8, 2026.
