Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman has been charged following an assault with a weapon investigation stemming from an incident in Wallaceburg.
Police say officers responded to a residence on Gillard Street on March 26 at approximately 9:41 p.m., where a woman reported being assaulted by an unknown female.
Investigators say the complainant provided a description and video evidence showing the suspect asking to use her phone before allegedly throwing a can of beer at her chest when refused.
Later that evening, police were advised the suspect had been identified through a Facebook group. Officers confirmed the identity with the individual who made the identification.
On May 4 at approximately 9 p.m., the accused was located and arrested by Walpole Island Police. She was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on June 22, 2026.
