A new annual Father’s Day tradition is set to begin in Wallaceburg as Glasstown Brewing Company launches Anchor and Ale, a family‑friendly event that will take place each year on Father’s Day.
For the inaugural celebration, residents are encouraged to bring the whole family to enjoy a full day of barbecue prepared by the chef, live music from Big City Band from 4 to 7 p.m., and the release of the brewery’s 100th brew, a summer‑ready Session IPA.
The event will be held on Sunday, June 21.
Tap Room Manager Steve Marek shared details about the day, noting that it will also mark the launch of the new boat club.
Memberships are available for $25 and include a Glasstown flag for boats and a membership card that provides 10% off food and merchandise throughout the summer. Marek explained that the goal is to create a welcoming experience for families and boaters as the season gets underway.
Another feature of the day will be the unveiling of the original steam whistle from the former glass factory.
Visitors arriving by boat will be invited to pull the whistle upon docking, and in return will receive a complimentary drink from owner Todd Shepley.
The addition of the whistle is intended to connect the brewery’s location to the community’s industrial history while adding a fun element for boaters.
Glasstown Brewing Company is located at 331 James Street in Wallaceburg.
