Chatham-Kent Health Alliance announces Canada Day service changes

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance says several outpatient and clinic services will be closed on July 1, 2026, in recognition of Canada Day, while emergency departments and some inpatient services will remain open.

In a public service announcement, the hospital said ambulatory care, outpatient rehabilitation, lab services, health records, patient appointment offices and several specialty clinics will be closed for the holiday.

The musculoskeletal rapid access clinic, mental health and addictions outpatient services, and rapid access to addiction medicine clinic will also be closed, along with Elston Pharmacy and the oncology and chemotherapy department.

Hemodialysis care will remain open, and emergency departments in Chatham and Wallaceburg will continue to operate 24 hours a day.

Patients with scheduled diagnostic tests are advised to attend their appointments as planned, while hospital officials say staffing will remain in place for inpatient and emergency needs.
