The St. Clair Parkway will close at 5 p.m. today to accommodate Algonac’s fireworks display, prompting travel changes for ferry users and local traffic.
The Walpole-Algonac Ferry will continue operating after the roadway closure, but service will be limited to foot passengers only. No vehicle traffic will be permitted on the ferry during the closure period.
The North Channel is scheduled to close at 9 p.m., with the last ferry crossing expected just before that time. That final crossing will also be restricted to foot passengers only.
Officials are advising travellers to plan accordingly and allow extra time for delays as the evening event proceeds.
