With great sadness we announce that on Monday, July 6, 2026, Helen Ryan passed away suddenly at her home in her 88th year. She will be forever held dear by her beloved husband of 68 years, Keith and as a devoted mother to Tami (Chris) and the late Greg Ryan. Family was everything to Helen and she will be missed greatly by her cherished grandchildren Haley (Cam), Asilyn (John), Tyler (Kelly), Nolan (Ashley) and by her great grandchildren Hendrix, Berkley, Dani and by her great grandson due in October. Helen was born on July 7, 1938 to Margaret and Edgar Authier. Just before starting her family, Helen began her career in education as a teacher in St. Pat’s one room school house. She continued her career by teaching in the one room school house in Wabash, each of the different schools in Wallaceburg and as well as serving as principal in Chatham before her retirement.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231) on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 3:30pm until 7:30pm. Her Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11am. If you wish to make a donation in her memory, please consider Diabetes Canada.
