The Salvation Army is asking residents across Chatham-Kent to donate clean reusable bags, saying its supply is running low at all of its locations.
The organization said it uses reusable bags at both its food banks and thrift stores but does not purchase its own, relying instead on donations to keep its stock replenished. It is accepting bags of any size — small, medium or large — as long as they are clean and no longer needed.
Bags can be dropped off during open hours at any of the organization’s locations.
In Chatham, donations are being accepted at 456 St. Clair St. Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or at 46 Orangewood Blvd. Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In Wallaceburg, bags can be dropped off at 600 Lowe Ave. Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., while in Ridgetown, donations are being accepted at 31 Main St. E. on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
