St. Clair Township council covered a range of topics at its regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 10.
Council heard a presentation from NRStor Inc. and voted to pass a blanket municipal support resolution enabling the company’s proposed Liquid Air Energy Storage Project to advance its submission to the Independent Electricity System Operator’s Long Lead-Time Capacity Services Request for Proposals process.
Council also heard from a resident regarding a new crosswalk on St. Clair Parkway and directed staff to investigate the feasibility of modifying the crosswalk lighting.
A request to have fees waived for vendors at the Moore Sports Complex during Mooretown Minor Hockey tournaments was denied, while council approved the purchase of a new server for the township.
Council awarded the contract for the Municipal Campground Feasibility Study and Strategic Review to Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. in the amount of $111,725, and approved the Water/Wastewater Buy-in Charges report, along with revised buy-in fees and an updated extension process, as recommended by DFA Infrastructure International Inc.
Council received the St. Clair Parkway Speed Limit Review, a comprehensive engineering report commissioned by the township to assess and recommend appropriate speed limits for sections of St. Clair Parkway. Council also received and approved the 2025 draft consolidated financial statements for the township and received the 2025 audit findings report for those statements.
