Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 57-year-old Raleigh Township man has been charged with impaired driving after a Chatham-Kent police officer spotted his vehicle travelling without its headlights on.
The officer, on patrol on Water Street in Raleigh Township, noticed the vehicle around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 and observed it having difficulty staying in its lane.
A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was arrested for impaired driving.
He was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters for further testing, where he provided two breath samples above the legal limit.
The man was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and operation with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 milligrams or more of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
He was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 1.
