Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 23-year-old Chatham man suffered life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle collision early Saturday morning on Centre Side Road at Pioneer Line, Chatham-Kent police say.
Police responded to the report of the collision at approximately 2:56 a.m. on Aug. 22.
The investigation revealed that a single motor vehicle, operated by the man, lost control and left the roadway before entering a ditch, police say.
The driver sustained significant injuries determined to be life-threatening. He was taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical treatment before being transported to Victoria Hospital in London for further care.
Due to the severity of the collision and the injuries sustained, members of the Traffic Management Unit attended the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation, police say. The intersection of Centre Side Road at Pioneer Line was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
