OPP officials allege: The body of a swimmer who went missing in Lake Huron at Pinery Provincial Park has been recovered.
On Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, just after 1 p.m., members of the Lambton County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a missing 28-year-old individual from Scarborough, who was last seen at the beach at Pinery Provincial Park.
On Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, visitors to the beach located the body of the missing swimmer.
The OPP thanked the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, Anishinabek Police Service, Walpole Island Police Service and Pinery Provincial Park employees for their assistance.
