The third annual Craig’s Cruise for Comfort, an ATV poker ride held in support of Chatham-Kent Hospice, brought together more than 220 riders and raised $32,000 to support end-of-life care navigation, grief and bereavement support and residential hospice care in the region.
The event combined community fellowship, fundraising and recreational ATV riding, with stops at Riverside Powersports in Prairie Siding, Central Tavern in Pain Court, the Dresden Agricultural Society at the Dresden Racetrack, Par 72 in Wallaceburg, and Bob N’ Buoys Bar & Grill in Mitchell’s Bay.
At each stop, riders collected a poker chip to build their poker hand throughout the day. Once the ride was complete, the hands were revealed and the riders with the top three poker hands received cash prizes of $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third.
Following the ride, approximately 300 people, including more than 220 riders and an additional 80 supper guests, gathered at The Scot in Tilbury for supper and the evening’s activities. The 50/50 raffle was won by Doug Young.

The success of the event is a testament to the generosity of the local ATV community and the many businesses and volunteers who came together to support a meaningful cause,” said Lise Cote, chair of the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation Board of Directors.
