Heat warning
Environment Canada says a heat event continues across Chatham-Kent, with moderate impacts and high forecast confidence.
Temperatures are expected to reach 30 to 32 C Thursday, with overnight lows of 20 to 23 C and humidex values near 40. The heat warning is expected to end tonight.
Residents are advised to drink water regularly, limit exposure to the sun and schedule outdoor activities during cooler parts of the day. People are also encouraged to check on older adults, those living alone and others who may be more vulnerable to heat-related illness.
Signs of heat exhaustion can include headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst and intense fatigue. Heat stroke is a medical emergency and requires immediate medical attention.
Environment Canada advises residents to continue monitoring weather alerts and forecasts.
The warning is in effect for Chatham-Kent and Rondeau Park.
