Intersection improvements to begin at Park Avenue East and Sass Road

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is advising residents and businesses of upcoming intersection improvement works at Park Avenue East and Sass Road in Chatham.

The work includes installation of a new traffic signal, road widenings to accommodate turn lanes, new curb and sidewalk installations, street lighting improvements, pavement resurfacing and site restoration. The municipality has retained Sterling Ridge Infrastructure Inc. to complete the project.

The project will begin the week of Monday, Sept. 14, with completion expected in December. Final restoration is expected to be completed in the spring.

Park Avenue East and Creek Road will remain open to traffic during construction. Sass Road will be closed for a portion of the project, and a detour will be posted. Access to all businesses in the vicinity of the intersection will remain open at all times.

The municipality thanked the public for its patience and cooperation as the infrastructure project is completed. For regular construction updates and further information, residents can visit the Chatham-Kent construction projects website.
