The Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission has advised that the lawn watering restrictions implemented on Aug. 31, following recent emergency water restrictions, have now been lifted.
Customers may resume normal outdoor water use, including lawn watering and other non-essential uses of the potable water supply.
The response to the emergency measures demonstrated what can be accomplished when residents, businesses and organizations work together during a challenging situation. The municipality and the Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission recognized the inconvenience the measures caused and thanked residents for their patience and support throughout the situation.
On behalf of the Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, officials thanked residents for their understanding and cooperation in helping maintain a reliable water supply for Chatham-Kent.
