Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Windsor man has been charged with robbery after allegedly grabbing a woman’s cellphone and wrist in a parking lot in Chatham.
On Tuesday at approximately 8:32 a.m., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a possible robbery in progress at a business on Grand Avenue West. Through investigation, officers learned a man had approached a woman in a parking lot, asking her for a ride. When the woman declined, the man grabbed her cellphone and wrist. A struggle ensued over the phone, during which the woman was able to separate herself from the man.
Further investigation revealed that the man was bound by an undertaking condition prohibiting him from entering the Municipality of Chatham-Kent except for the purpose of attending court.
