Chatham-Kent Public Library unveils new Storybook Trail in Kingston Park

The Chatham-Kent Public Library has introduced a new and improved Storybook Trail in Kingston Park in Chatham. Walkers along the park trail can look for 18 trail markers, each containing pages from a children’s book, allowing them to read an entire book as they walk the circular trail.

The library is inviting the community and partners to a Storybook Trail ribbon-cutting event on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. Attendees are asked to meet at the first trail marker near the Kingston Park Pathways entrance, adjacent to Primrose Lane.

The project supports early literacy, family engagement and physical activity by encouraging families to enjoy shared learning outdoors in local parks and along community trails. The permanent storybook trail is expected to keep the community returning, as stories change throughout the year.

The Storybook Trail was made possible thanks to the sponsorship of the May Court Club of Chatham.
