The Chatham-Kent Police Service is recognizing Constables Trent Fox, Cole Brigley and Garrett Sanchez for their investigative work following a break and enter at a Chatham business.
On July 7, CKPS responded to a report of a break and enter at a business on King Street in Chatham, where approximately $10,000 worth of property was stolen. Const. Fox obtained video footage from the business and the downtown CCTV camera system, and through continued canvassing, additional video evidence was located that assisted Constables Fox, Brigley and Sanchez in identifying a suspect.
The officers conducted targeted patrols and pursued multiple investigative avenues, resulting in the suspect’s arrest. Some of the stolen property was recovered at the time of the arrest, and the officers continued their investigation until the remaining property was located. All stolen property was recovered and returned to its owner.
As a result, a 30-year-old Chatham man was charged with break and enter, theft and possession of property obtained by crime.
In recognition of their tenacity, teamwork and attention to detail, Constables Fox, Brigley and Sanchez received Deputy Chief Letters of Recognition.
