Wallaceburg UAW Hall to host mayoral, Ward 5 candidate meet and greet

Ward 5 residents will have an opportunity to engage directly with mayoral and Ward 5 council candidates ahead of the upcoming municipal election.

A candidate meet and greet is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Wallaceburg UAW Hall, 88 Elm Dr. S., Wallaceburg.

The free, public event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and is designed to foster open dialogue between constituents and the candidates seeking to represent them.

The evening will feature a social hour from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a mayoral candidate Q&A session from 7 to 8 p.m. and a Ward 5 candidate Q&A session from 8 to 9 p.m.

The Q&A sessions will be moderated. Candidates will receive two questions in advance, while all remaining questions will be drawn at random from community submissions and will not be provided beforehand. Each candidate will be given a set time limit to respond.

Constituents are encouraged to reach out to candidates before the event to submit potential questions for the moderated portion. Time permitting, attendees may also ask questions directly from the floor following the moderated session.

Doors open at 6 p.m. All community members are welcome, and no pre-registration is required.
