Tilbury man arrested on warrant after ATV complaint

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 36-year-old Tilbury man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant stemming from a traffic complaint earlier this year.

Chatham-Kent police responded to the complaint in Tilbury on July 5 at approximately 1:37 a.m. The investigation revealed that an ATV had been driven across a resident’s lawn, causing ruts in the grass. Officers later located an ATV matching the description.

The investigation determined the driver had a suspended licence and that the ATV was uninsured. Officers formed reasonable grounds to charge him with operating while prohibited, dangerous operation, driving while under suspension, and owner operating a motor vehicle on a highway with no insurance, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Wednesday, at approximately 3:32 p.m., the accused was located on Canal Street in Tilbury. He was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date.
