Municipal offices and most services in Chatham-Kent will be closed Monday, Oct. 12, for the Thanksgiving Day holiday.
All arenas will be closed, as will the Chatham Capitol Theatre, Kiwanis Theatre, CKTickets Box Office, Chatham Cultural Centre, Chatham-Kent Museum, Thames Art Gallery and ARTspace. Ridge House Museum and Milner House are closed for the season. All Chatham-Kent Public Library branches will be closed, though virtual services are available at ckpl.ca. EarlyON programs, Employment and Social Services, Fleet Services, Housing Services, the Provincial Offences Court, the Public Utilities Commission, CK Tourism and both ServiceOntario locations in Chatham and Dresden will also be closed. Fines can still be paid online at paytickets.ca.
Police, fire and ambulance remain operational 24 hours a day and can be reached by dialing 911 for emergencies. The Fire Administration office will reopen Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 8:30 a.m. For homeless emergencies, residents can contact the Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628.
CK Public Health will be closed, with essential after-hours services available at 519-352-7270. Acceptance of well water samples will be paused from Friday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. until regular office hours resume Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 8:30 a.m. Entegrus will also be closed, with an emergency number of 519-352-6300. Riverview Gardens reception and administrative offices will be closed, though nursing staff can be reached 24/7 at 519-352-4823. Cemetery staff will be available on call for funeral homes needing at-need lot sales or internment orders.
Public works administrative offices will be closed, with road services available for emergencies only. All waste and leaf and yard depots will be closed, and waste collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. RIDE CK Transit will not operate.
The Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be open for adult swim from noon to 1:30 p.m., followed by a free recreational swim from 1:30 to 3 p.m. All other programming is cancelled. More information is available at chatham-kent.ca/recreation.
