With heavy hearts we announce that Rosemary Diane Edmondson passed away suddenly at her home on Monday, October 12, 2026. Family was Diane’s greatest passion and she will be forever remembered as a cherished mother to Janine O’Neil (Paul) and Jamie Cartier (Darrin). Loved grandma to Lee O’Neil (Sandy), Taryn Rabideau (Jeremy), Sarah Cartier (Janelle), Lindsey Rossendaal (Andrew) and GG to Liam, Lucas, Landon, Quinn, Zac, Jack and Ella.
Diane was the last surviving child of the late James and Sadie Edmondson and is now reunited with her brothers William (Mary Ann) and Neil (Dorothy, surviving). She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and extended family especially her sister-in-law Betty Rupert (late John).
At the beautiful age of 86, Diane was a vibrant, active women who lived life to its fullest; enjoying her weekly bridge games and her activities at the YMCA. She was a talented artist who was very proud of her degree in Art History as well as her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231) on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 10:30am until the time of her funeral service at 11:30am. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery. In memory of the years Diane spent in Geriatric Nursing, please consider giving a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Chatham Kent or to the Chatham Kent Women’s Shelter in lieu of sending flowers.
