Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 34-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is being held pending a bail hearing after being arrested on an outstanding warrant stemming from a break and enter earlier this year.
Chatham-Kent police responded on June 20 at approximately 1:20 p.m. to a report of an unwanted person at a residence on King Street East in Chatham. Officers located the woman inside the residence. An investigation determined she had entered through an unlocked door and taken items from within. She was asked to leave and refused.
She was arrested and charged with break and enter to commit theft, and was released with a court date of Aug. 31. She failed to attend court on that date, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Oct. 14, at approximately 6:32 p.m., police located the woman on Prince Street East in Chatham and arrested her on the strength of the warrant. She was taken to police headquarters, where she is being held pending a bail hearing.
