Police handed out four tickets at the Murray Street and Reaume Avenue intersection in Wallaceburg on Thursday.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say an officer from the Traffic Unit monitored traffic in the area of the new crosswalk on Murray Street on Thursday morning.

Police say three tickets were issued to motorists for failing to yield to a pedestrian and one motorist was charged with having an expired val tag.

Police officials say officers will continue to monitor this area.

Motorists are urged to slow down and obey the rules of the road for everyone’s safety, especially the children walking to and from school, police say.
