‘Christmas tree’ helps raise funds for Salvation Army

After deciding not to use the turkey costume this year, Pastor Brian Horrobin dawned a Christmas tree outfit instead to help raise funds for the Salvation Army Christmas campaign.

“My middle daughter Tori went to the storage unit at our church, I said I needed something that was ‘Christmasy’, and she dug up this thing, which is from an old play years ago,” Horrobin told the Sydenham Current.

Horrobin was located at the Wallaceburg Walmart on December 23, the final day for the Salvation Army Christmas campaign, to help the Wallaceburg Veteran and Family Support Group raise funds at the kettle.

“We were hoping to put a smile on people’s faces so they put more money in the can, and the Salvation Army reaches their goal,” Horrobin said.

This was Horrobin’s second straight year dressing up, after many years of volunteering for the annual campaign.
