The Wallaceburg Splash Pad committee surpassed their phase one target on Friday afternoon, June 1.
Together with a $1,000 private donation and a barbecue at the Southwest Regional Credit Union, the group eclipsed the $200,000 mark for fundraising.
“We are overflowing with your generosity,” the group posted on social media.
The barbecue raised a total of $1,015.90.
Chris Young, the chair of the Splash Pad committee, said they are eyeing phase two of the project.
“We are looking at adding a permanent fully accessible washroom as well as connecting sidewalks,” Young said, adding that more details would be available at a later date.
