Heat warning remains in place

Hot and humid conditions will continue through Wednesday, forecasters say.

“A hot and humid airmass is expected to remain in place through Wednesday. Maximum afternoon temperatures are expected to reach 31 degrees with humidex values around 40. Overnight low temperatures will be in the low twenties providing little relief from the heat,” Environment Canada officials say.

“The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors. Check on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.”

WAMBO books for sale

A handful of the commemorative WAMBO books are still available.

You can pick up your copy for $30 at the Wallaceburg and District Museum.

A limited number of books were printed for WAMBO 30, and there are still a few left over from the event.

The books feature all the event posters from the past 30 years at Wallaceburg’s annual summer event. A list of the directors and committee members from each year is also listed in the books.
