Police: Impaired driving, assault, breaching the peace

Man charged with breaching condition

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early Saturday morning around 1 a.m., police were on general patrol in the area of Park Lane in Chatham.

As a result of a traffic stop the driver was found in violation of his recognizance curfew.

On March 1, 2020 he had been released from court to obey a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The 30 year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged pending a future court date.

Man arrested for disturbance

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday night, while conducting patrol on King Street, auxiliary members observed a male causing a disturbance near the mall.

Patrol officers attended the area and spoke with the man.

As a result of his continued disturbing behavior, a 47-year-old Chatham man was arrested for breaching the peace.

Woman charged with domestic related offence

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday night, police were called as a result of a domestic altercation taking place on Lorne Avenue.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman assaulted her boyfriend by striking him in the face.

The 28 year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault.

She was released pending a future court date.

Man charged with impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 4 a.m. on Saturday morning, police responded to the report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Bear Line in Chatham.

Officers attended the area and located the vehicle along with a helpful citizen.

Through investigation, police found the man to be driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.

The 25 year-old was released pending a future court date of August 14, 2020.
