MP Lianne Rood appointed to deputy whip role

Lianne Rood, Member of Parliament for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, has been appointed to the Conservative Parliamentary Leadership Team as the Deputy Whip and Co-Chair of Question Period planning.

“I am honoured to serve as part of this Conservative Leadership Team and I would like to thank
our Leader the Hon. Candice Bergen, for this opportunity,” Rood said in a written statement.

“I am looking forward to working with our caucus and the Team in these very important roles, to present a strong opposition to the Trudeau Liberal Government.”

Rood added: “As a Member of Parliament, I have been privileged to serve my constituents and Canadians in different portfolios. I am excited to take on these new roles and to continue working alongside my caucus colleagues for Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast.”

Rood was first elected in 2019 and has held the roles of Shadow Minister for Rural Economic Development and Rural Broadband Strategy, Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food and Deputy Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food.
