Break and Enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning Police received a call that sometime overnight, unknown suspects had smashed three windows at a school on Churchill St in Chatham.

The suspects then gained entry into the school where they removed a 32” TV.

Break and Enter / Stolen Vehicle

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning Police responded to a business on Queen St in Chatham in regards to a break and enter that had occurred over night.

The suspect had forced open a bay door and once inside stole over $20,000 worth of equipment.

The suspect also stole a pickup truck that was parked inside the business.

The truck was recovered by Police shortly after at a residence on Richmond St.

Break and Enter leads to Arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after the above mentioned break and enter, Police responded to another break and enter at a residence on Raleigh St. Police found the residence to be insecure and learned that the suspect had fled prior to their arrival.

The suspect was located shortly after hiding in a flowerbed.

Police searched the residence that had been entered and located thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen tools, some of which were from the break and enter on Queen St.

The keys for the stolen truck were also located inside.

Members of the CKPS Intelligence Unit attended and assisted with the retrieval of the stolen property.

A 33-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with multiple offences including two counts of breaking and entering, theft over $5000, possession of stolen property over $5000 and possession of break in instruments.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested on Outstanding Warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at approximately 7:53 AM Police responded to an address on Darrell Line in regards to a suspicious person complaint.

Police located the male and through investigation, it was learned that the male had an outstanding warrant for theft under 5000, possession of stolen property under $5000 and failing to comply with probation.

A Chatham man was arrested and transported to the CKPS headquarters.

He was later released on an undertaking with a future court date of October 3, 2022 at 9:30 AM.

Man Arrested for Theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning at approximately 10:28 AM Police attended a business on King St in Chatham in regards to a theft.

A male had entered the store and stolen a painting.

Police located the suspect and recovered the painting.

A Chatham man was arrested for theft and possession under $5000.

He was later released with a future court date.

Stolen ATV in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime since August 25th, unknown suspects stole a 2003 Yamaha Kodiak ATV from a property on Swan Line.

The license plate attached to the ATV at the time was 86MW6.

Break and Enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon Police responded to an address on St Clair St in regards to a break and enter that had occurred.

Sometime over the last two weeks, unknown suspects had smashed a window and gained entrance into a trailer.

The suspects then removed a generator valued at approximately $350.00.

Man Arrested for Causing a Disturbance

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening, at approximately 11:20 PM Police responded to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in regards to a male that was refusing to leave the property.

Upon Police arrival, the male was escorted outside.

As he was leaving the property, the male picked up a rock and threw it at a parked car causing damage.

The male was then arrested for mischief under $5000 and causing a disturbance.

The 39-year-old Chatham man was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Robbery in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, just before midnight a male was delivering papers in the area of Cross St when he was attacked by an unknown person.

The suspect cut the victim with what was believed to be a knife or razor causing minor injuries.

The was last observed fleeing the area, heading East on Cross St.
