The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is removing the ‘appointment only’ model in the Dresden and Chatham ServiceOntario offices for provincial services, effective Monday, October 17.
“Throughout the pandemic ServiceOntario in Chatham and Dresden adopted the appointment only model as customers endured long wait times, due to the high demand of service requirements,” Municipal officials said in a media release.
“Even as we have begun transitioning out of the peak of the pandemic we are still seeing fluctuations in patrons visiting our offices from other areas. We have been able to make some operational changes that we believe will provide solutions to these business surges.”
In addition to accepting walk-ins, Municipal officials say they will continue to offer appointments for customer convenience.
“You can book appointments by calling 311 (locally) or 519-360-1998 or by emailing CK311@chatham-kent.ca,” Municipal officials added.
“ServiceOntario customers are encouraged to visit the ServiceOntario website www.serviceontario.ca for up-to-date office hours. Of note, appointments are still not required for any municipal services offered at the Dresden ServiceOntario office.”
