Police: Domestic disturbance leads to assault charges, fail to attend court

Man arrested for intimate partner violence

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 29, 2023, at 5 p.m., police responded to Greenbriar Trail in Wallaceburg for a domestic disturbance.

Through investigation, police learned the man and the woman’s son were verbally arguing.

When the woman intervened, the man grabbed her and pushed her, causing her to fall backwards into a wall.

The woman and the children left the residence.

The 41-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of February 27, 2023.

Woman arrested for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 30, 2023, at 12:55 a.m., while on general patrol an officer observed the woman walking on Adelaide Street in Chatham.

The officer recognized the woman from previous encounters.

The officer confirmed that the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant, and she was arrested.

The woman was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to a theft investigation.

The 22-year-old Chatham-Kent Woman was arrested and released with a new court date of February 27, 2023.
