Police: Assault, B&E, failing to attend court

Woman arrested for assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 11, 2023, at 7:37 p.m. police responded to Moonstone Crescent in Chatham for an assault investigation and learned the woman was involved in an altercation with a man.

Through investigation, police learned the woman, on different occasions, threw a bottle at the man’s truck, causing a broken window, threw household items at him and assaulted him.

The woman was contacted by phone and advised of the pending charges.

On June 12, 2023, at 10:03 a.m., the 31-year-old Staples woman turned herself into the police.

She was charged with assault and two counts of mischief.

She was released with conditions and a future court date of July 10, 2023.

Man arrested for break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:45 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Queen Street North in Tilbury.

Police attended and addressed the disturbance.

Police learned the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a break and enter investigation that occurred on March 12, 2023.

The 21-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was charged with breaking and entering and released with conditions and a future court date of July 17, 2023.

Man arrested for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 8:23 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Middle Line in Tilbury East Township.

Police learned the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court concerning assault charges from a 2020 investigation.

The man was initially charged with assault, mischief and two counts of assault with a weapon.

The 26-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was held pending a bail hearing.
