Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation’s Benefit Gala taking place October 20

The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation’s Benefit Gala is back on October 20 at The Chatham Armoury.

This annual event is a major fundraiser for the Chatham-Kent Hospice, which provides end-of-life care for local families in a 10-bed facility.

The Gala brings people together to celebrate the Hospice’s work and raise funds.

Ginny Hawken, the Chair of the Gala fundraiser, emphasizes the chance to commemorate loved ones and support the Hospice’s no-cost operation during times of need.

“Gala is a chance for all of us to come together and celebrate the amazing work being done at our Hospice day in and day out,” said Hawken, in a press release.

“We get to share, remember our loved ones and ensure Hospice continues to operate at no cost to local families in their time of need.”

The Gala includes a gourmet meal by The Chilled Cork, Live and Silent Auctions, and the opportunity to win a .50 carat diamond from Mitton’s Jewellers.

A touching Hospice Heart Story from a local family is a highlight, followed by an after party with a DJ.

In its sixth year, the Benefit Gala has raised over $332,000 for Chatham-Kent Hospice care, with $98,000 raised in 2022.

Victory Lincoln remains the Title Sponsor, having supported the Gala since its inception in 2016.

The community’s support has been exceptional, making a significant impact on families and caregivers.

The Chatham-Kent Hospice has served 1,200 local families with free end-of-life care, including Grief & Bereavement support.

Donations are vital for covering expenses not supported by government funds, accounting for around 62% of the budget.

Limited tickets are available for $175 per person, including a $50 tax receipt.

They can be obtained by phone or online at www.ckhospicegala.com.

Additional charges apply for online purchases.
