Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On October 19, 2024, at approximately 8:25 p.m., officers on general patrol in Chatham located a female in the area of Wellington Street East known to have an outstanding warrant in effect for her arrest.
The 30-year-old Chatham women was subsequently arrested on the strength of this warrant and charged with Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Fail to Comply with Undertaking, and Fail to Comply with Probation.
The warrant was issued as a result of a shoplifting incident earlier that month, in which the women is accused of having committed these offences.
She was ultimately transported to police headquarters and held in custody pending a show cause bail hearing.
