UCC students prepare for annual ‘Lancers Scare Hunger’ event on Halloween

Ursuline College Chatham (UCC) is set to hold its annual Lancers Scare Hunger event, organized by the UCC CARES Club, on Halloween night. UCC students will be collecting canned and non-perishable food items across the city to support Chatham Outreach for Hunger.

“Lancers Scare Hunger is more than just a food drive—it’s a proud UCC tradition that showcases the heart and spirit of our school community,” said UCC Principal Lisa Harnarine, in a media release.

“Our students look forward to this event each year, and it’s incredible to see the generosity of our neighbors.”

From 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 31, hundreds of UCC students and volunteers will visit neighborhoods citywide, gathering donations. Community members who won’t be home can leave labeled donations marked “UCC” or “donation” on their porches.

The donations collected through Lancers Scare Hunger play a crucial role in helping Chatham Outreach for Hunger meet the heightened demand during the holiday season, providing essential resources to those in need.
