OPP officials allege: The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chatham-Kent Detachment, has charged an individual following a traffic stop.
On December 17, 2024, at approximately 11:50 a.m., a member of the OPP stopped a passenger vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 401 near Communication Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent after the vehicle failed to move into another lane while passing a commercial motor vehicle collision.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old from Mississauga was charged with:
– Fail to move into another lane for emergency vehicle or tow truck – if safe to do so
– Fail to surrender licence
– Fail to surrender insurance card
The OPP remind drivers and members of the public to respect our communities, comply with all laws and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighbourhoods with risky, illegal, and dangerous actions.
