Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday January 8, 2025 at 3:42 a.m., the Sarnia Police Service received a 911 call from the Sarnia Jail in response to an inmate that was found unresponsive in his cell.
Police, Fire and Paramedics quickly responded to find the male with no vital signs and he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Investigators have since determined the death to be a homicide and have arrested another inmate who shared the same cell with the deceased.
As part of the continuing investigation and in collaboration with the Ontario Coroner’s Office, a post mortem examination (autopsy) has been scheduled for Thursday January 9, 2025.
