Mr. Cornelius “Casey” Van Der Gulik, a resident of Petrolia, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Charlotte Eleanor Englehat Hospital, in Petrolia, at the age of 89.
Casey was born in Heiloo, Netherlands and was a son of the late Peter and Elisabeth (Broderode) Van Der Gulik.
Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Thomas) Van Der Gulik (2019).
Loving father of Betty (Pat) McDougall, Teresa (Roy) Carron, Casey (Ester) Van Der Gulik, David (Connie) Van Der Gulik, Jeff (Terry) Van Der Gulik and Chantel (the late Paulo) Vanlentino.
Sadly missed by his grandchildren Jamie McDougall, Lisa (Kyle) McDougall-Broad, Ryan (Melanie) Van Der Gulik, Sara (Jeff) Belanger, Katelyn Van Der Gulik, Josh Van Der Gulik, Peter (Tracy) Van Der Gulik, Shane Van Der Gulik, Samantha Van Der Gulik, Cassandra (Don) Van Der Gulik, Natasha Van Der Gulik, Nicholas Van Der Gulik, Sam Jr. (Shelley) Carron, Nicole (Denny) Peltier, Mandy (Rob) Smith and Amy (Jason) Legroulx.
Casey will also be missed by several great grandchildren.
Kind brother of Peter (Marie) Van Der Gulik and John (Jan) Van Der Gulik.
Predeceased by his brothers Dick, Tony, Martin, Ronnie and Andre.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Arrangements entrusted to the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. Following Casey’s wishes cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
